Just noticed the alloy has bubbled up and flaked around one of the spokes on the rim. Can the wheels be repaired on the TA??? If not, will the front wheel off any other bikes fit? The TA wheel seems to be a rarity![]()

Got both of mine replaced from the part search engine on internet. Paid 80-90£ but be careful of bearing size differences on the rear. Rims can be ally welded then re drilled but careful of wheel deforming. Also new rim and spokes are available for £130 then hunt for local wheel builder!
Welding of the cracked areas will not prevent the rim from developing new cracks in another spot. The dreaded rot can be even worse sometimes if you look at the inside of the rim.
Only long term remedy is to buy a new set of rims.
Get some Talon hubs, a decent set of rims, SS spokes and start lacing.
If you weld them then wax oil the nipple holes and areas around the nipples they last forever. I also jetwash my wheels when I clean the bike and then re waxoil them. This stops any corrosion dead and prevents cracking (corrosion). Waxoil under the rim tapes and in the gulleys too.
Ah here, oil the nipples???? Too much for a man to take!
Seriously though, buying a used wheel from Germany, and I'll take the suggested waxoil precautions, thanks lads![]()
