Picked up my new seat today

After being hugely disappointed with the standard TA seat, and after being not as impressed as I had hoped by the Airhawk cushion I decided to take the plunge and get myself a proper seat!

A quick search on the internet turned up motorcycle seatworks (msw), a fairly local company that does comfort seat modifications. One spare seat was promptly ordered from David Silver and deposited with msw. Today three weeks later (and £125 lighter) I picked up my new seat.

Only ridden 20 miles so far with the new seat, so it's a little early to tell if it was a worthwhile investment, certainly feels firmer than the stock seat though. Plan on getting some distance in tonight or tomorrow so will give a full report then.

Have attached a few pics showing my original seat, the new one, a merge showing both and also a picture of the new one with the shape of the old one highlighted in red to give you an idea of the difference.

After nearly 2k last weekend I fail to see how any body can not be impressed with an air hawk

My seat is still comfy. But I dare not take it off. The upside down "L" shaped clips that you have to slide into place, buckled the last time I had the seat off.

Basicall, I went looking for the tool kit, popped the seat, put it back on (so I'd thought), sat on it and smooossshhh. The two plastic L clips just warped.

The've never been the same. I got off, played around with the seat for about 2hours. I managed to take a blow torch and with a yellow blame, soften the Ls and wiggle them with index finger and thumb (gloves on of course) and make them go back into their original position so that I could get the seat back on. But what a pullaver.

I keep the tools in my box now. No chance that fecking seat is coming off again. Nightmare!

Anyone recommend a good seat for the "larger" of us guys? I am 18stone.
