Headlight fault

Hi
Before I start pulling to bits anyone had this before,
Headlight doesn't work main or dipped, only sidelight, but when I select main or dipped main beam indicator is lit on both. bulb appears OK but have not removed yet, all other electrics fine, headlight fine last week.

Hi no not had this problem, and not too sure whats happening but could it be a faulty dip switch

Decided to try to rectify fault on headlight today, really difficult to get at bulb, gave up when 2 bolts holding bottom access cover sheared off.
But I played around with switches and found heated grips switch made horn beep really quietly, then headlight came back on, and is fine now.
I presume there is a bad earth somewhere.
I hate it when you can't figure it out, you expect it to happen again when you really need the headlight.
