Don't have a clue... it was mounted exactly there and like that, but under that tank bolt...

    Can I ride without it?

Isn't the battery on the side?

Ummmm, not sure I was sure the battery was under the seat but don't listen to a word I say, as long as I put the key in and it goes bruum bruum I am happy.

I will go out to the garage in a bit and take a look under my seat but I'm a bit slow so may bee a while

    Hey Falp,
I take it the thing is metal? as opposed to plastic?
Who last removed your tank for a service? air cleaner cleaning.

I suggest you contact them and ask - I cannot say that my TA has a panel like that.

Sharribee Does your Brrrm Brrrrm not also go Rattle rrrrattttle rattle a lot with all them things under th seat? Apart from two pairs of pliers, some spanners and some piping, what on earth have you got there? and what do you use em for? Does your TA break down a lot?

    Re: What part is this?

Found it! It's part no 11 on this micro-fiche -

    http://www.xrv.org.uk/RD10_XL650V_00...0_target39.php

Something to do with the air filter. Looks like someone didn't put it back properly when the filter was changed.

Sorry, cannot be anymore help as I have yet to even lift the tank of my TA.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?
