    TA700 Centre Stand

I got a centre stand fitted to bike before delivery.
It goes for 600 mile service on Saturday.
This is only an observation but I have to put side stand down before I can put down centre stand.
I use centre stand every night as I have a bike mover so I can drive into garage - turn it - drive out next day.
It is (should be) a Honda stand
I take it that this is the same for others

I can only put the bike on its centre stand when I am off it. So always put the side stand down to get off and then lift onto the centre stand. I think this goes for most motorbikes.

Yes, that's how it is. You don't have to put the sidestand down if you use a bit of toe technique, insert toe onto the foot piece of the centrestand and swivel foot towards rear of bike sort of pushing down, then once it's down far enough return foot to regular position for the lift

    Re: TA700 Centre Stand

That's how it is for me.

I'm also amazed how hard it is to get the bike up onto the mainstand. I know it's higher than the VFR but I had to use a lot less effort to get that bike up on the stand, even loaded.

I think the design was compromised just to get it to fit, it needs a bigger lever. Obviously after the design was complete they thought "Darn, no mainstand, oh well we'll squeze it in here somehow......"

How much do main stands cost ? I havent got one so chain lubing is fun. Also like the idea of bike taking up less room in garage or not falling and crushing the kids.

The honda one isn't cheap at somthing like £175, I seem to remember that someone mentioned in another thread that other manufacturers also make stands, but that they weren't as good.

    Re: TA700 Centre Stand

I got stand fitted to bike for £140 all in
    parts and labour.

I would have taken the stand for that price and fitted it myself but when they quoted that, I went for it.

    I had traded in my 06 DV700ABS
I miss the fairing pockets but definitely enjoy the less weight and longer suspension.

I fitted the SW Motech centre stand and find it quite easy to use so...... er..... I guess it works

    Re: TA700 Centre Stand

I was surprised how easy it is to get mine onto the centre stand, but maybe having 15+ stone pushing down on the lever helps!
