    MPG differences.

I did a trip abroad earlier in the year of about 1000 miles, solo but panniers and topbox. I averaged 47 mpg.
Just came back from another trip, only 700 miles, again solo, panniers, topbox PLUS tent and sleeping bag, airbed etc. Averaged 56 mpg.
More weight and i think i ride consistently but 9 mpg is a fairly big difference, don't get me wrong i'm pleased its going the right way but i don't understand why.

I suppose i don't ride consistently, can't be anything else can it???

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

That is a big difference, is the bike unchanged from the previous trip?

    Re: MPG differences.

Thanks for the replies, now you can call me a ****.

I quoted, from memory, 47mpg from the first trip thinking thats what it was, when i looked it up this morning it was actually 53.6 mpg. So not much difference at all really from the 57 on this latest trip.

No harm done but i do feel a DORK... and i pity myself!
