Loads of threads and endless debate on here. Try searching.
Me, I have had:
OE Trailwing rear changed at about 8K for a Tourance.
Rear tourance then did about 10K. Still on front Trailwing.
Tourance F&R - 1st set lasted 17K; 2nd set a bit less at 13K - but there was still 2mm tread left at that point and included a 5K tour into Morocco. Tourances good in the dry but always felt like they were going to let go in the wet - but never did. Also wore square quite quickly and were then horrible on white line and stuff.
Currently on Dunlop D607 - fabulous grip and feel wet and dry. Feel like they would grip on ice. BUT seem to be wearing a bit quick - currently about 4K on them and the rear is looking sqaure and worn but still probably 4+mm.
Someone else will offer a different opinion shortly though. Also depends if want to go on any rough stuff.
2001 Transalp XLV650. Faithful old friend still chugging away nearly 100,00miles
2007 Varadero XLV1000. Now you're torquing but sadly gone to another forum member. One of the best bikes - period.
