    tourance tyres

    Hello there everybody
Iv'e just put a set of tourance's on my 650 alp
and done a couple of hundred miles with 29psi front and back as per
standard trailwings. just wondered if anybody has found better pressures to run them at? (riding solo I will be about 14 stone kitted up) they feel great by the way. ------------ Chris

    Re: tourance tyres

According to the Metzeler website, on a TA650 they recommend 2.0 bar front and 2.25 bar rear which converts to F29 & R32.6 in good old PSI.
I've always run mine at 29 in the front and 31 in the rear (solo) and it seems to be fine - handles great and no excessive wear. (I up it to 32/33R 2-up with luggage).
Great choice of tyres - they feel much better in the wet than the Trailwings I have on my Vara which are a bit twitchy and don't really inspire confidence at all (fine in the dry though)!
    Hope this helps?

I have them on my @ but do tend to run them at a higher pressure.
    Front 32psi
    Rear 36psi

    Have a look here
2001 Transalp XLV650. Faithful old friend still chugging away nearly 100,00miles
2007 Varadero XLV1000. Now you're torquing but sadly gone to another forum member. One of the best bikes - period.
