Oh how I laugh - the ridiculousness of it all - what??? Deliberately run your bike out of petrol and then fill up from a 5 litre tank only to realise you were out in the middle of nowhere, the nearest life forms being 200 miles away ... hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... imagine ...

I don't mean to 'hijack' this thread, but what sort of range does a transalp have? My F650 has been so un-reliable that I want a honda, my F650 can do a little over 200miles at a push, has the TA got a similar tank range?

My 650 gives me 180 to 200 miles per tank depending on how it's ridden.

My TA does between 171 miles and 238 miles per tank the former on motorways and the latter on A and B roads.

    Re: Transalp MPG

Well finally got the first 100 miles on the bike well 106 miles. The mpg with sensible riding seems to work out at about 48mpg not too bad.
