I had the same thing with my car, just lift of the throttle and I got a rattle like a loose exhaust.
You are not going to like this but it was a big end.

I realy hope yours is something else.

It could be something no more serious than a broken baffle in the exhaust.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    How is the gearbox?
Earlier TA needed to keep the chain quite loose to avoid damage to the bearing but people tende to treat it as a sportsbike and ended up making a mess.
Also is the noise more noticeable when cold running or is it always the same?

    Re: rattle and knock

hi folks, after a bit of diy on the tranny i did notice that the chain on my 87 did perform alot better when very slack well spotted.I only then got a closer look at my front sprocket and relised i had no holding plate with the two bolts, someone had done a fine weld job. I now have the bike up on the center stand and appear to be getting ths same knocking noise but it appears to be from the chainand or sprockets so a change must be done.

HAPPY-coffe,oily hands, and not a clue how to put it all back to geather, yup
