Question More Grunt N Grin Required

Owned my 650 TA for about 6 weeks now, couldnt wait to get her/ him ? run in but now i have i am finding it a bit lame really

I have no doubt the engine could breathe easier/ perform better (well from a 650 V Twin i did expect better !)

So you lot "in the know" - can it be improved much ? I also plan to try a 16T front sprocket as i find it all a bit "hectic" for me at anything over 60/ 65 (esp for a V Twin - and i have owned a few over my 32 bikin yrs)

I tried to avoid buying a "Land Ship" like the Vara 1000 because i have some physical probs which limit my stamina/ strength so i thought the TA a good choice... but am sadly finding it rather lame. I know the old "no substitute for cubes" runs true but with a bit more go i would be happy to keep the TA (unless i go out too often with my mate on his Beemer GS1200 !!)

Interested to know if new silencer (or full system) perticularly will aid my wish

I must say I love my 650 but I used to own a CX500 and that seemed to have more grunt. It was also more economical, I believe it is possible to drill out the airbox giving more flow or possibly fitting K&N filters, but I have not got that far yet.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

If you are unhappy with the stock Alp's performance sell it.

There are little bits and bobs that can gain 1 o 2 hp but this, does not in any way turn it in to a rip snorti'n, fire beathin' monster!!!

(personally, I'm more than happy with the overall performance)

Thats not what i want the TA to be (i'd drag out me GSX1400 if i need that for a day but come home knackered !!) Just like to improve a bit - interestin to hear comment about CX500 feeling like it had more grunt - my mate had one & engine wise was quite impressed all them years ago.

If the Beemer had "grabbed me" when i borrowed my mates i would have bought one already but it just didnt do it !! Having a couple of Guzzi's in my stable i am still drawn to V Twins (but B4 anyone suggests the new Stelvio a tad too pricy for me - unless in the rush to get business Mortgage company offers a re-mortage at 3% interest !!)

OVERALL i do find the TA nice and i have to consider that wiv dem bones & joints havin seen better days (another reason to ALWAYS wear yr condom !! SERIOUSLY !!) sustained blasting is out/ so are sportsbikes

Maybe its the TA for general use & the GSX out for occasional blasts to "fix the adrenalin rush requirement)

Keep Up the GREAT STUFF all - one of the nicest things about TA ownership is havin this GREAT forum !!
