F800 GS in grey - yet to be named !
airhawk isn't an alterntive to rebuilding a knackered seat if thats what you mean - it an enhancement to an otherwise less than comfortable seat. And they really do what they are supposed to do.
For a TA size medium does it. The neoprene one's are supposed to last longer and be repairable (mine is I know - bicycle patch already attached).
I note you are in Lancs - you can come and look at mine and try it out - it is on loan to a mate at the mo - should be back this time next week if you can wait.
2001 Transalp XLV650. Faithful old friend still chugging away nearly 100,00miles
2007 Varadero XLV1000. Now you're torquing but sadly gone to another forum member. One of the best bikes - period.
Yamaha XT660r - slowly getting it ready for some big adventures
I use a medium-size (14" x 14") premium Airhawk too, although I see no reason why the large (18" x 14") wouldn't work just as well; maybe even better.
After you get used to the 'floating-on-air' feeling, which some say makes them feel 'detatched' from the bike, then I think the Airhawk is a winner. Wouldn't be without mine.
Consider also the StarCushion alternative, as some say that these are superior to Airhawks. (nb: an American-based product - and I dunno if there's a UK agent hereabouts)

Mr Reccomendation regards Airhawk ? Buy from USA direct (sorry UK dealers but the extra £40 for buying one here just not justified in my book !! AND DONT WORRY BOUT WARRANTY !! Airhawk even confirmed receipt of my warranty card as i requested & had no probs with this atall - TOP SERVICE !!)
Look for seller Ghost MC on fleabay - top service from them - arrived in one week !! I got the premium Cruiser Medium
We have the medium cruise (rider & pillion) in plastic, from Busters.
They do what they say but invariably, if you sit on a bike for a long time you will end up with a sore *rse (the airhawk just delays this by a couple of hours)!!!
BUT...
They have a cover that has impressive sponge like qualitiesand I find they let a cold draught through, eventually leading to a chilled lower back.

Well i can certainly vouch for them, I have a cruiser medium (in the plastic)£49.95 from busters which i found to be so good at reducing the bumache i've got one on the pillion seat as well now as it would be totally unfair to go a distance knowing i was protected and she wasn't on the back because my transalp seat used to turn into a railway sleeper after 100 or so miles and that is no exageration......![]()
Medium here.
I wouldn't go very far without my Airhawk these days. The 650 seat on the TA is not good IMO, and if I got hold of a cheap 2nd hand one, I would try a rebuild as some have done here.
Pillions also have feelings.... I used a cheapie alternative for my lad when we joined up with some of the xrv run to Normandy, I used a double layer of small bubble wrap, folded in to give 2 smooth layers. He got off after 2hrs and when I asked how he felt he said, " a bit stiff", asked again after we got to where we were stopping and he said "it doesn't seem to work Dad". However this was from the seat cutting in on the side, his bum was fine! When we did a shakedown run the previous week, he was twitching and wriggling after 40 mins! Result!![]()

I have the large neoprene. I guess it depends on your butt size also. Great kit and worth every penny
