What sort of mileage from an engine?

hi guys - i'm new to transalps and appart from their reputation for having strong engines i'm not aware of their habits or foibles!
so i'm thinking about a cheap bike to tour on and i'd like to know what sort of milage a 600 can run to without a rebuild?
any other advice you can give referance buying an older bike? not general bike things as i know those but transalp related.

As with anything mechanical correct maintenance will pay.

The only occasional thing worth mentioning is worn splines on the gearbox output shaft maybe reg/rec otherwise just check as with any other bike older.

I've seen plenty of 600s with more than 100,000 kms looking and sounding fine, not so many 650s but I suppose that isn't surprising.
