    got me a silver one

Well I went and did it! I’ve got me a lovely silver 650 alp with only 800 miles on the clock (now 1000, 200 by me!!) First impressions are very positive
    • Love the high up riding position especially the leg room (I’m 6ft 2in)
    • More than adequate power for me with a nice “easy going” feel
    • Handling’s fine with a nice “balanced feel”

    The only down sides are:
    • The stock Bridgestones remind me of some “Pnemant tyres” I had on an MZ in my dim and distant (not to mention skint) past
    • The standard screen isn’t the best in the world (I think I might be getting an MRA soon..)

    And that’s it!!

Overall it comes across as a solid bike that should be good for a bit of touring, commuting and whatever comes to mind. Like most people I tend to read every review about a bike before I get it and I’m glad I didn’t take any notice about what the magazines said about the bike, they’d have you believe that you’d struggle past an artic on the motorway so how come I spent a good 30mins trundling along at 80mph quite comfortably (apart from my head doing an impression of a ball in the national lottery machine due to the standard screen)???

Welcome to the forum and to the joys of Transalp ownership.

I would heartily recommend the MRA screen as better than both the standard and touring screens from Honda.

Other accessories you might like to consider are a Scott Oiler and some engine/fairing (crash) bars. There's a number of opinions as to which 'bars to get, but I have the ones by Grave, in the Czech Republic. Website here -

    Enjoy.

Oh, and silver ones are bestest! And don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Sorry, Blue is much more beautiful than silver
And yes you do get belted by the wind with the standard screen...

Silver is definitely the best color had mine almost a year still love it.

Tyres, if you mainly use your bike on the road I would recommend Dunlop D607 there great in all road conditions.

    Oh yeah, tyres, sorry.

Fitted Michelin Anakees about a 1000 miles ago - well happy with them. Loads more confidence in all conditions.

Welcome to the site, excellent choice of bike but contrary to what you have been told I am afraid the Black ones are the best, especially if they have Pink Fairies on the fairing

    Great Choice ,, I love my 650

I can highly recommend the MRA Vario , it helped the wind blast for me.
But I guess everyone is different.

    Silver. Fast

Blue. Seems faster... Maybe its the Wax I use.....

    This is Transalp Territory

    Cheers, Enjoy your TA
