    My Trusty Steed

    Hi guys,

been hangin round here a while reading and learning. Got a new camera so thought i'd post a pic of the bike i got in april. I passed my test in march. She's 1989 and had 8500 miles on the clock. Was stood in a shed for 8 years. Mighty first bike for anyone thinking of getting one. You won't be dissapointed. I fitted a higher screen. It's a power bronze flip up. Still get a little buffeting but don't think there's much else i can do. I'm 6ft. If anyone knows different please advise. Also if anyone knows a decent light upgrade let me know as well, as the lights leave a lot to be desired. I used to ride a DR125 and the lights on her were fantastic lol. Anyway... cheers for now and i'll hopefully post more now that i have started. Might see you round Omagh sometime.

    Brian

Welcome to the forum, nice looking bike.
Have you thought about a HID light kit?
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    Re: My Trusty Steed

    Hi Stumpy,

yes... i have been looking at them on fleabay but am sorta afraid to bite as i couldnt be sure of anyone who had actually done a transalp... have you this set up or know anyonewho has. The lights are bad to the point of being dangerous. I seem to be getting as i can only describe like a letter box effect. A small rectangle wth no real headlight distance. The reflector is mint as is the glass. Have tried many different height settings but no good. On the DR125 i had,the cars used to dip before coming round the corner. Now all i get is blinded by everyone before they know i am comingl ol.

    Cheers for now...

That is definitely one very, very tidy looking bike. Happy 20th Birthday for September.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?
