Hello everyone! transALp here, but u can call me AL. been reading this forum for quite sometime before purchasing my TA last year, thought it about time i joined the community.

already found lots of good help, advice and views before buying my bike and know that this will be a valuable source for all TA issues.

Im no bike expert yet! but i know the superb info here can help to bring me up to speed.

Already posted this in "introduce myself" hope i dont break rules by repeating myself, lol.

    '54 TA 650 blue, topbox.

Thanks for the help already Sharribee!

Your very welcom Al and that's a nice looking bike. How do you get on with the touring screen. I found it caused too much noise from turbulance and went back to a standard screen very quickly.

Ive never known it without taller screen, though im 6'2" i get buffeted whatever the weather, im also keen to find out more about a better screen for me.

been reading about other screens, any 6 footers have better results from different screen?

is that the standard small screen Sharribee? whats ur height? lol

    is the touring screen pointless?

    Re: New Member says "Howdy"

The differences are due to the year, Mine is an '04 same as yours the one in the picture is an '06 I believe the details are new decals on side and different shaped chrome end pipes.

Here's mine which is an O4 transalp as well but in fastest black

In answer to your question, I am 5 ft 8 and the standard screen is much smaller than the touring one. I found it a massive improvement but if you find the touring one OK because of your height then I'd stick to that one.
