    Fenda Extenda for Transalp 700

I know the front mudguard on the Transalp 700 is pretty good when compared with a lot of other bikes, but I can't help feeling that if it was a bit longer it would really help to keep the front of the bike a lot cleaner. I used to have a Fenda Extenda (£17.00 as I recall) on my baby Varadero, and it did a great job on that bike, and it also fitted in very unobtrusively with the black front mudguard (just like the TA700)... so I set off in search of one for my new TA700.

I scoured the Pyramid Plastics website, but they don't seem to do one yet, so I emailed them, and Fletch very helpfully replied, "We may be looking at one later in the year, I have made a note of your email, I will email as and when the Fenda or any part becomes available."

I was just wondering whether others here on this forum also are thinking they'd want a Fenda Extenda for their TA700? If so, perhaps the thing to do might be to email Fletch here fletch@pyramid-plastics.co.uk and also express your interest in getting one. If a few more people ask about it they might be more likely to put it in production sooner.

Re: Fenda Extenda for Transalp 700

I had exactly the same thought but also could find no supplier. My previous bike ( 600 Fazer ) I was able to aquire on that once fitted looked like a natural extension as it was perfectly shaped. So far nothing for the 700 Transalp.

But why do all manufacturers produce these guards 6-8 inches too short ( no smut now guys !) and leave all the road muck to be thrown into inaccesible dificult to clean areas.
here just now it would be really usefull !!!

I will see if I can boost your suppliers interest although could Honda ( or anyone ) have the same guard on a different bike already making an extender available although listed for another model???

    I did it like this:

Cost virtually nothing - idea courtesy of Wee Jack - works a treat .

"Fenda Extenda" or Mudflap or .......... ??
(see post 9 in this thread, and Jack's photos)

Mine used to be a builder's bucket, I think. Couple of bits of dural, one each side to spread the load, four washers (ditto) and four pop-rivets.

    Cheers,

Hmm... Thing is, I'm trying to persuade people to pester Pyramid to make a proper, custom fit Extenda... not improvise their own...

Have you contacted Skidmarx ? Although it is not currently listed, they might have done one. That happened to me last time.

I could try that... Thing is, I've had a Fenda Extenda before (for my baby Varadero) and I know it'll be well made. Besides (and call me strange if you will...) but somehow there's just something not right about the name Skidmarx...

Did you ask them about a rear hugger. I would be interested in both.

    I'd be interested in both.

I imagine a hugger would really get in the way for off road riders, but something more expansive to protect the rear-shock, cat and chain from the road grime/rain etc would be most welcome. Especially for those of us who use the 'Alp as a commuter tool

I think the thing to do would be to contact Pyramid directly yourselves using the email address I gave above - the more different people that contact them indiviually, the more likely they are to think "Hey, there's some interest and demand here... lets make the stuff."

    Done. The reply I got was;

"the Fenda for your bike is now in Development, I would think they would be around 6-8 weeks. The part code will be 051800."

    Go Pyramid Plastics......

Seriously, I've had loads of bits from them over the years and it's all been good quality stuff. Even the instructions are written by someone with a sense of humour. Anyone who's had a VFR hugger from them will know what I mean..!
