Interesting - I can't see a downside to this approach.

    Any other thoughts?

There are bound to be some idiots out there who will accidentally loop their lock through part of your bike as well as your lock but, other than that, what could possibly go wrong...

    Re: Bike Security

I'am sticking to my ABUS Detecto 8000 brakedisklock. Not cheap but with a level 22 (on a scale of 25) there is no way they getting it open. Besides the lock itself it has a 100 decibel alarm that get's off real quick on every movement.
The only thing the lock can not prevend (even with the soundalarm) is picking it up to put your bike in a van or on a trailer. Therefor i'am very aware where i leave my bike behind.
Whatever lock ,alarm or chain ,if the right people want your bike there is no way preventing this. Only a good antideft insurance will ease the pain.
    Enjoy

All well and good but the first there and the last to leave are still vulnerable, especially the last as that bike would not be attached to anything.

I have an Abus chain through the front wheel and through the engine bars in the hope that they cant lift the Dero

True, but that's no worse than now - and after a while you get linked, and get improved security

Xena XN15 here when it's a quick nip to the shops: loud and remarkably sensitive, as well as being a tough lock - anything longer-term and I add a darned great Squire lock and chain as well. I had wondered about 2 Xena disc locks: one on each front disc - the reason being that 2 separate alarms would be harder to silence than one...?
