Well, that's the tricky bit! It's not based on total light output, it's normally light falling at a specific point of the beam, which means there must be an area with less light. But at the same time, the bulbs can be driven harder (and thus last less time) to get some more output... A 'standard' higher wattage bulb would be ideal (though technically illegal) if the reflector and wiring could take it. All the bulbs you linked are 55/60W and as such perfectly legal and there's no danger of melting anything.
p.s: It was mudwiz that said about the higher wattage bulb:
Headlight protection - I've used with great effect the extra thick clear stick tape, just stuck over the lens. Match this with a 100w "rally" bulb, and it will still MOT with the tape on.
These look ok:

What sort of Watts could i go to without melting things?
bulbs above are:
12v 130/90W
12v 100/80W
24v 75/70W
12v 60/55W
Also I presume if I go for anything above 60/55W I will have to change it for MOT?

130 is properly dodgy, you can't run 24V bulbs off the alp's electrical system (unfortunately, those 75/70's would probably be quite good) so 100/80 seems the best bet, but no guarantees for melting stuff. I'll have a dig and see what I can find out though, watch this space.
As for MOT, depends how rigorous the testers are![]()
Well just fitted the 12v 100/80w Halogen bulb. I forgot you have to remove all the fairing to get to it on the old Transalp so a 15min job took an hour.
Looks brighter compared to the Xenon headlight bulb I had fitted last year and a lot whiter.
But won’t know how much difference till I go out at night or down an unlit road.
I replaced the H4 halogen in my Ural with Osram Nightbreakers. This was in both the head light and Hella spot. Difference is easily noticeable. Have another bulb for the TA when I can reach it.
A simply, cheap improvement that uses the same wattage and wiring.
Xenon is a nice idea but, ultimately, a lot of expense and hassle.... it may be brighter than the Osrams I have fitted, but this, in turn, does not mean that the Osrams are not bright enough for the road, because they are.
My god what a difference.
Now I have the 80W bulb fitted suddenly I can see the road again at night. Mind you not sure the other roads users appreciate it. It seems to give off as much light as a modern car headlight so I’m wandering rather then fitting more spot/driving lights if it’s worth just fitting them light bullet things since I tend to ride everywhere with dipped beam and rarely use full beam so may be a bit over kill riding with dipped beam and driving/spot lights on all the time.![]()
