    Setup and routing info

Well after nearly 2 month of ownership of my TA, I am nearing the point of finally getting to use it.
With having to do all the work outside, (no garage or big enough shed available), I've had to repair and paint every panel, done a service on it and a couple of mods.

Just need a couple of questions answered to assist me getting to the end.

I have a choke cable to fit but as there is none on the bike at present, could anyone give me some advice (or a piccy if poss.) of the cable routing??

The rear shock was adjusted to make it easier for the previous owner to use it, softened or something to lower the bike a bit. Been told that I can just wind this up a bit to make it a bit stiffer and not drop as much when I'm on it. Is this an easy job and what tools do I need to do it??

In relation to the previous question, I've noticed the chain is a bit tight when I'm sitting on the bike. From my readings on here, if I adjust the rear shock the chain will be a bit slacker when I'm on it. Is this assumption correct??

Sorry for the long questions but I've never worked on bikes before and a complete novice, give me a car and I'll strip and rebuild it without even thinking twice, I have the ability just not the knowledge as it were.

    Cheers
    CM

    Hi Cookie

I saw a good thread here about stiffening the rear suspension. harden the rear shock.????How????

I would do the rear shock then adjust the chain on its side stand as per manual.

I can not be of any help with choke cable, unless I can take a picture tomorrow.

Oh what TA have you got there...

No worries, I have a 650 so thats not much help, but there are plenty of helpful members here that have 600's and are sure to be able to guide you in the right direction.

    Re: Setup and routing info

The cables are routed round to left hand side of the tank then go up to the lever, the right cable will turn out by the front coils , then they go up to the bars. Hope this is some help its from memory so no image. Mines an 88 engine in a 91 frame !
