    Panniers from Motorbikes & Parts

    Hi everyone!

I've ordered the panniers for my XL700V Transalp from Motorbikes & Parts. Part of the order has already arrived but I'm still waiting for the left pannier, the top box and plate for the rear rack, and the locks.

I've tried emailing but no response and they were supposed to have reopened on 3/1/09.

Any ideas if these guys are still around. You kind of get worried, don't you, in these difficult economic times!

    J

Re: Panniers from Motorbikes & Parts

I ordered some stuff from them late Dec,and e-mailed them Monday to check. I checked my email last night, and found a reply explaining that they were fairly snowed under and that all was OK, another (later) advising my order had dispatched, and a further one from Parcelforce later in the evening with tracking info.

    So . . . I wouldn't worry too much just yet.

    But . . .

Still no parcel, and although the Parcelforce site identifies the tracking number and addresses, it gives no details.

Emailed both Motorcycles & Parts and Parcelforce tonight, looking for explanations.

Prompt reply from the former - part of the order is in stock, but part is outstanding - suppliers promised it, but it hasn't arrived. Offered to ship what they've got, if I wanted, but I don't mind waiting a few more days (the garage is fluffy cold just now!)

    So . . . Fingers crossed.

Did you get your stuff yet, Jonothan?

    Any other input?

I ordered a rucksack from them on the 7th Dec and they emailed me to say it was out of stock, but would I be willing to wait for re-stock. It arrived today so yes theyre still going and I shouldnt worry about stuff turning up.

The only worry I have is with parcel force. They never deliver, the last item I had them ship I was here on the web and suddenly the tracking said attempted delivery, I queried it and it turns out they go to the wrong block of flats.

I had exactly the same problem with parcel force, I wouldn't trust them to deliver a pizza

I have a different experience with ParcelFarce. They have never lost anyhing I've sent with them and everything sent to me using them has arrived on time and undamaged. City-Link on the other hand - don't get me started...

I had an email from them yesterday - they're onto it.

I was relieved to hear from them though.
