    Just purchased transalp

Hi all as you can see from the title, i have just purchased, an old transalp, from a guy near newquay, looking through ebay records etc i can trace it back to a forum member petterdiesel and wondered if any one no's any history of said machine i purchased it with a host of solvable problems(all done now) ie link pipe rotten, carbs out of balance(long way out) and mixture out but as i said all sorted, very pleased with it but just don't understand why owner after petterdiesel only kept it for about a month before selling on at a fair old loss still not to worry, now i can think about selling my zzr on as the transalp will fill that place lovely and will be more in keeping with my wr 250...............
    cheers steve

Well Done on your new acquisition.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Well done- another TA owner in Kernow. How about joining Cornwall Advanced Motorcyclists for advanced training, rideouts, fun and to stop me feeling I'm the only one without a BMW or VFR?
Anyway, you made a good choice and well done for rescuing a great bike.

I forgot to add the reason the previous owner couldn't balance the carbs was because the thread on the adjusting screw were completely knackered replaced the screw and hey presto

Hey slipper, great to hear you have petterdiesels (ex) transalp.
I still don't think he should have sold it - he hasn't bought another bike since!

There was no major trouble at all when petterdiesel had it, he maintained it well, loads of oil and filter changes, plug changes, always kept everything well oiled and was always cleaning it! It also completed a 4200 mile round trip in September - France, Italy, Greece, Albania, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany etc, no probs. Don't know why the guy from Newquay bought it to keep for a month

    Enjoy the bike
    Nearly too many bikes...
