650V6 fitting Heated grips & Hand Guards

Has anyone else fitted heated grips and hand guards to there 650v6.

I was looking at my original grips, the grip is closed over at the end where the hand guard would fix.

Is there a way to get the original grip off without cutting off..

Pump lot of wd-40 and leave it overnight.
