    XL700 Scottoiler Mounting

Anyone fitted a Scotoiler to a 700 alp ? There's a lot fewer places to mount the pump on the new model - any suggestions ? The ABS unit has used a lot of room under the seat so little room in there once the autocom's gone in !

Try one of the down tubes on the frame, the GS800 has it fitted there so it is possible a similar fitting point can be used

Have a look at the scottoiler site there is an installation help for the TA and loads of examples of mounting on different bikes

I've mounted mine on the down tube behind the engine - its the recommended spot on the scot oiler site. I found as there isn't much head - you have to have the dispenser turned up to Max to get a reasonable flow rate. Its a bit ugly there, but very easily accessable to adjust - even on the move.

I'm about to purchase one of these for my TA 700, I've had a quick scout around for prices (around £70), do they always sell at RRP or does anyone know of a discounter.

Noah - where did you hide it under the seat ? Next to no room under there !

    Re: XL700 Scottoiler Mounting

I drilled a small hole in the plastic cover near the seat lock and used the oiler bolt on mount to fix it, then passed the pipes up under the grab handle so they were all safe and sound under the saddle.

Found it a right royal pain to connect the vacuum pipe without taking the tank off.

I'll post some picks when I've got em off my camera.

Fitted mine under the saddle, remove the tool kit bungy and lo and behold a perfict hole to use the bolt on holder. resite the toolkit to the space under the carrier at the back of the seat.

As for the vac tube. the scottoiler site shows an illustration from the left hand side of the bike. Damn sight easier if yo go in from the right. dind even have to move the tank,do have to remove the fairing though. will post some picks when i can find he charger for my camera.
