    Chain drag

Have had a problem with chain drag (upper run) on plastic strip. Chain is adjusted to correct tension, any solutions?

Can you explain a bit more.

I could be wrong but I thought that the chain was supposed to run on this plastic strip.

Well someone with some real knowledge will be along soon.

When you load the back end by sitting on the bike, the chain should "move up" away from the strip which is there to stop damage to the swinging arm from any chain whip.

I deny all knowledge of the alleged "knowledge".

was the previous owner a bit of a bloater?
he may have adjusted up the preload so it wasn't loaded down and if your a lot lighter the suspension will be higher and therefore not settling down to raise chain off slider.

I'm no bloater just amply proportioned with shortish legs. May be preload then.

    Thanks

    Re: Chain drag

What do you mean by chain drag?

The plastic strip is there for the chain to run on, when riding the bike the upper run of the chain will (generally) be tight as it transmits drive.
