    heated grips query !!

hello all........finally got to get out on new alp ( bought mid dec !!! ) today for a few hours. gave it a good blast. well happy with run out. only one thing confused me. hands were fairly warm to start with but got a bit nippy half way into ride.......... duh.. turn on grips. got oxford 4 led ones fitted. pressed and held on button but blue ( cold!) led just flashed and went back off. noticed temp gauge almost back to blue ( obviously cold air) what if any am i doing wrong?? i know they work normally when engine is up to normal temp. bit confused as i thought this was the whole idea of heated grips ( cold weather ) cheers ade

That is true if they detect a voltage drop.......they switch off

Hold the + button until the blue light comes on then release. Now you can press the + button repeatedly until the desired temp is set.

thanks for your replies but still confused....... got same ones as digitalcaptive...... held button for few seconds......few blue flashes and off. had bike ticking over outside for a while ( no problems starting......first time with plenty of battery power) got engine temp right up to fan cutting in !! grips worked fine. this mystery happened halfway into my ride. (they were off when i set off...see original thread ) cheers ade

Check the battery connection, it sounds like they are not correctly connected, therefore not getting enough voltage.
