    Cheers chaps and chapesses !
You do not need to worry about the exhaust rusting away as the bike is only one year old it takes 18 months for the rot to set in.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

just fired the bike up in the garage after its been stood for a couple of weeks with the occasional start up and was amazed at what came out of that hole - looked like the roof was leaking !

So exhaust gases should come out then almost as if it's blowing? Got mine running today and just while it was warming up it was letting a lot through. The hole on mine's about 6mm. That right for a '98?

Ok gang - I will also 'fess up ..... just noticed the exhaust 'blowing' when I checked the tyre pressures ... so went straight to Halfords and bought some GunGum ! It was only when i got the rear peg bracket off and thought " hmmm ... that hole looks very round!" that I retreated from the cold garage to the PC and investigated!! Oh well ... I'll have to find something else to bind up with the Gungum!! (The last time I used the stuff was on a Ford Anglia in about 1979!!)
