Whats it worth?

Times are getting a little harder and having moved oop north (Lincs) from Surrey this week and with the associated pay cut that comes with the new job without any form of London weighting and starting at the bottom of the pay scale again(!) I'm potentially having to chop in the alp....

I have thought long and hard about it but the extra money in my pocket every month / having a roof over my head won out (unfortunatly)

The question is.... Whats it worth and what is the best way to market it....

The bike is.....

57 plate XL700 in Barley Yellow. It came with the Honda panniers and top box, centre stand, panel protectors, touring screen, fog light kit. It has done 11000 miles and has a full Honda main dealer service history. It has got a pair of Metzeler Tourances with 3000 miles on them, its never been off road and has always been garaged. I bought it in May 08 from Grantham Honda where it was their demonstrator and as such I am the second owner. There is Honda warranty until Decemeber 2009. All the paperwork is correct and I have all the spare keys, books etc.

I have had lots of fun on it and there are photos on the site if people want to have a look. It will end up probably on biketrader or fleabay....

So what should I put it up for....

I sold me 2004 transalp with full hard luggage, scottoiler and spotlights for £2,500 so as yours is much newer it'll be more than that

As the new transalp is due shortly for a £1000+ price increase i would not let it go for less than £4000, but i suppose it depends on how much you need a quick sale.
I would try to sell your in the bike trader or MCN.

Maybe worth considering removing the extras and selling them individually
Possibly overall you will get a bit more?

thanks for the suggestions.... I had been thinking about the 4k mark as that more than clears the finance and puts some money towards the next, cheaper, and mine not partly owned by Balckhorse finance bike....

Base price for the new alps on ebay is about 4k at the mo, I'd try for 4.6k with those extras but maybe you'd be better off splitting them on ebay as they're quite desirable. Even some dealers are putting them out at 4k secondhand. The new price hike may improve the used values though.

There'll be lots of 0% deals soon if you want a new bike too.
