    TA700 price increase

Just noticed on Honda UK the price increases today, the TA700 now @ £6,541 up from £5,503 =£1,038 increase.

This, along with the cost of having to pay for the first service (Jan09) and the free back box and heated grips offer finishing. There will also be an increase in the VAT of 2.5% in the new year, on top.

According to the news and my pay deal boss, currently 0% Uk inflation
A bit of an increase overall .

Just a bit.... The weak pound is starting to bite with few of the benefits showing yet!

Much as I love the Transalp, if I was forced to go into the £7000 bracket I'd be looking at something else. For what it is, £5,000 is about the right area for a transalp.

They won't sell at that price......I suppose when they have all gone up (including Triumph) it will level out a bit. Vauxhall have done it as well. Put up your prices, 2 months later offer interest free blah blah blah super deals....on the new price.

I'm with barftone on this one... If I was in the marked tof a new TA (which I'm not), I'd sit tight for a while. There were quite a lot of good deals going on TA's a few months ago, and there will be again, even at the "new" prices - when Honda and the dealerships start to have a backlog of stock on their hands. At one level, you can only charge for something the amount that people are willing to pay.

    Re: TA700 price increase

I loved my 650 Transalp - which was about £5200 (reduced to £4700 because it was pre-reg). Good as they are - they are not £6500 bikes !!!

You would have to budget £7000 - centre stand - heated grips - low seat

Nah - hold on chaps - they will be giving away unsold stock in October
    2011 Triumph Tiger 800 - "Black Pussy" - MMMM Nice !!!
    2000 Suzuki DRZ400S - "Ol' Yella" - very bright
    2011 Peugeot V-Clic 50cc - "Scoot" - It's my wife's, an enjoyable ride.

    I have a house , but I can't guarantee it's safe !!

    Re: TA700 price increase

It's not that they're asking too much, it's just the pound simply can't get enough Euros to buy them from Honda Europe. The 2008 alps would all have been bought from them when the pound was stronger. If we had a completely British manufacturer with no imported parts this would be their time to clean up with much smaller increases. Maybe it will be so with Triumph.

    Re: TA700 price increase

No way would I pay the new prices, even though I love my Transalp.
I think I would have to look elsewhere for a replacement.
It is a bit of a downer, with getting a 4% pay rise last year then with the new timetables getting a 5% hour cut. Therefore we lost 1% on last years pay
