    Smile jetting??????

hi i have recently fitted some ABP front pipes to my alp (purchased from a member of this forum many thanks) well made, very very light compaired with standard and look good

when fitting, the exhaust clamp holding the end can to the front pipes just kind of crumbled away.... (didnt think it would be to bad as its only a 2003 bike) what rubbish do honda use to make these parts??!!??

anyway i have used a jubile clip to clamp the exhaust, only problem is theres a slight hole there now, which is quite noisey (fun for now but its going to get anoying)

so i will be getting a new second hand end can maybe arrow or remus (want a removable baffle just for those days of stupidity )

i have read all the posts on this and jetting changes, some people have, some people havent, most popular option seems to be going to 125 main jets, with one guy going to 128 mains ( i would probly prefer 128's as i dont want itr running to lean as standard is 135's i think)

i know its not going to be a wheelie machine with any changes, i just want the bike running smooth and clean and good on juice

initial thoughts after fitting just the pipes with no other changes is the bike revs lots quicker and seems tourquer at the lower end of the revs. am still unsure about the flat spot or MPG will need more riding

also PAIR system, remove it?? does it change the running of the bike at all?

sorry if some of these questions have been asked all ready, your thoughts would be great.........

one more quick one, anyone here ever used a right hand side stand?? they are for sale on rugged roads, i want to remove my centre stand for the extra ground clearence, but still want to be able to change tyres road side (when needed) with minimal fuss. any thoughts on this product??

    thanks again......

    Re: jetting??????

PAIR system.....Easy to remove, no effect on the bike as long you blank the vacuum take offs.

jets....TA's tend run rich. Most people, me included, manage to do quite extensive changes to intake, carbs and exhaust without major carb mods. Equally no one reports significant improvement in power and only marginal to minor improvements in MPG. Best advice is make the mods then determine if its running weak/rich by Dyno'ing it (or whatever else you may choose like a colourtune) and fiddle with the jets then.

There's loads of discussion on this subject mostly about 1-2 years ago when we all decided it didn't make much difference - do as search.

Exhaust clamp, mine was/is a stainless steel item. You can get them at reasonable price from Stagonsett.

    good luck
