    Scottoiler

I was just wondering if all you good people who have Scottoilers always use the proper oil. If not what do you use..fat-mal

You'd have a job finding a cheaper alternative...
1997 Jag 3.2 Exec (jangly jangly!); two bicycles; 2001 XL 650 V-1 which is ready for anything, cuts through traffic like a hot knife through butter and just gets better and better and a low mileage Pan European ST1100

    Nah, a fiver for 1/2ltr.....

I use old gear oil & old engine oil. I reckon that chainsaw chain oil would be good too.

Always was led to believe old oil was useless for chain oiling and as for chainsaw oil, using them a lot myself I reckon it would make a right mess on a bike... I use Scottoil and the amount it gets through isn't exactly going to break the bank if you buy the right stuff.

I mix engine oil & gear box oil - works fine on all the bikes I've used it on

I use proper Scottoil, I'm cheap, but not that cheap!

Fitted Scottoiler to new Vara today, drove me mad getting the vacuum pipe on but hey ho, it's done!

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Fresh EP gear oil. It's very cheap and it isn't sticky like scottoil or chainsaw oil so it's easy to clean off. It's also what Honda and DID recommend.

Hello, I have a TA XL700VA and am thinking about fitting a Scottolier - Where have you fitted the unit on your TA ???... The best suggestion I have read so far is it move the tool roll under the rear pod and mount the Scottoiler where the tool roll fitted ? Have you got a better suggestion
