    a bit of research.....

well iv been looking at new end cans ( after mine developed a nice whole and cannot be welded as the whole area around the lower clamp is rusted and rotten, by bike is only 2003 aswell )

been looking at a few makers and well lets just say theres no way im paying around £250 just for a new exhaust.

so been on ebay and have been drawn towards remus as most there cans just look the same apart from the link pipes

    so is this true??

    came across this one here

NEW REMUS VIPER ALLOY ROAD CAN HONDA CBR900 1992-95 on eBay, also Kawasaki, Motorcycle Parts, Motorcycle Parts Accessories, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 08-May-09 18:50:01 BST)

    and this

NEW REMUS ALLOY ROAD LEGAL CAN SUZUKI GSF400 BANDIT on eBay, also Suzuki, Motorcycle Parts, Motorcycle Parts Accessories, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 09-May-09 00:04:17 BST)

    both look good

anyone know of any reasons why either of these exhausts could NOT be fitted to a transalp????

provideing the correct link pipe was available to buy/make

    any info would be great....

Best thing would be to get on remus website and check the cans against one another to see if they have the same part number.

The internals are different, you can pick up two cans that look the same and one will be heavier than the other. the baffling and the packing inside will be different. for a two cylinder low cc bike you can have a light, not so heavily packed can but on a multi cylinder high cc engine you will need more packed/baffled.
Theres been a few on ebay lately, you could modify a twin remus to fit but watch out for the exhaust melting the side panels or the rear rack and the indicators.
Or search ebay europe for cans they are out there for alps.

    J
ive got Remus Innovation Titanium on my TA - has rem baffle & none of those on ebay look like mine (similair overall look) with baffle out its poppin N fartin & i much prefer the runnin with baffle in - may be worth bearin in mind if lokin at race pipes !

I did wonder if "other makes"" cld be hooked up to the Remus link pipe though as the Can was pricey - i cld have bought the cheaper versions but bit the bullet in the end.

Nicely made/ fits like a glove but perhaps overpriced in my book.

Still, bein single there's no-one to nag me that it cost more than the oven !!

    Re: a bit of research.....

btbloke how about a cbr600 or similar 4pot 600-750?? would that be
    suitable??

silvalp how much noise does the exhaust make with the baffle in? i dont want it silly

also been looking at link pipes, and Remus want £85 for one

thats £85 just for a short piece of pipe

    so on ebay seen this

40mm Wastegate Dump pipe screamer pipe on eBay, also Engine Tuning Parts, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 24-Apr-09 19:44:00 BST)

now if i just chop that bit off the end its a strait through slip on link pipe yes??

so if i also find a cheap exhaust with a 40mm slip on end then bingo

match them up, use some clamps on the joins, clamp the rear end can onto the frame and should be able to all bodge into place

anyone have any thoughts on that link pipe idea of mine?

I think the pipe should be replaced as well so you lose the expansion chamber under the engine, complete system would be a lot lighter and would fit together better.

Then an end can should fit straight on as long as it is suitable.
Buy the end can and try fitting before worrying about if or not it needs a link pipe.
