    Transalp front sprocket

    Evening all...

    Anyone shed some light on a part number to put a 16 tooth front sprocket on my 1988/89 Transalp (6 spline);
and where to get one from other than David Silver or JT Sprockets... (both have been as much use as a chocolate fire guard!! ).

I believe it is the same as the NT 650 / Revere, but guess someone out there will know better than I.

    Cheers

    Potski

    have you tried Here
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    Hi StumpyFingers,

Yeah tried them..but they only have the standard 15 tooth for my 88 (6 spline) model (and a 14 tooth for those who like to stay on the dirt)....THE SEARCH CONTINUES..!

    Cheers

This post by Kjell Lindberg might be of help to you -

    XRV650 interchangeable parts
    Brrrmm - '04 XL650V Transalp in Silver

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Potski - i fnd the same (Choc Fireguard ) prob when asking same of D Silver (i want to try 16T on my 650 too)

I'm gonna enquire with CMS about the 16T VT600C Sprocket mentioned in the "interchangeable parts" post & will post findings here.

With the 16T mentioned often & most owners avoiding aftermarket front sprockets i'm suprised Silvers dont offer a Honda item actually !

    Re: Transalp front sprocket

Potski - i looked at CMS NL & tried to track 16T sprocket for yrs/ my models but sprockets are one thing you dont see !! (on one fische you can see sprocket but the pic is cut halfway thru it so no ref number)

I tried to send fax about yr year as well but didnt get answered (may be on manual answer & they might hav left for the day)

Will try sending again tomorrow !

    Re: Transalp front sprocket

    Potski, had a look in aftermarket parts book at my mates shop today, . . . 1987/88, only 14 + 15 front's. . . . however, rear's are available in 39,42,43,47,48,49.(47 standard).
    -3 rear = +1 front (approx), . . . so 43 rear might be worth a try.
