IT was a DID chain & sprocket kit.
sounds like it was on the wrong way round to me if its being forced outwards.
Ive never had this problem with other bikes ive owned but i could give it a try.getting it ready for mot.
If you fitted the sprockets yourself have a look at the original one that gave you no problems and compare the offset and the mark left by the original retaining plate. if it was a honda one it will definitely be marked to the shape of the plate and this will show you the outside and the inside. It is easy to get it the wrong way if it is a steal sprocket with no familiar markings like the standard honda one. If its on the wrong way round the motion of the chain will try to pull it back in line with the rear. hows the chain guide holding up is it worn too?
another possibility is the rear sprocket,is it the right one,is it on the right way round? is it this pulling the chain to the outer and pulling the front sprocket?
normally the tooth amount is marked on the outer side, ie 48 on the rear and 15 on the front one.

Thanks i will check both.i'll feel a bit stupid if thats what it is.
if its a pattern sprocket it should have a 'boss' proud on one side, this should be facing you and the keeper bolts to the 'boss'. . . . . the flat side faces the gearbox.
Thanks to eveyone who replied. It was back sprocket wrong way round. My own stupidity.Cheers anyway.
