    Swing Arm Bolt Removal

As in the title......I've undone the nut....put a socket on the other end...bit stiff but turning....

Tried whacking it with a mallet and wooden shaft....no joy.

I've jacked under the engine (bike's supported on axle stands under frame) and wedges the swing arm a bit too take the load off but can't budge it.

Any ideas Peeps ??.....Knowing me I've missed something obvious.....

Sprayed with WD40 and left it.....work soon...

Can you turn it at one end as you tap it at the other? That usually works.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

EEK !!!! Scarey.....Hopefully the fact that I can turn it fairly easily will help..

I'll see if I can get a cordless drill on a socket to turn it as I whack it...

    Applictor No 1 methinks..

It'll have to wait 'til tomorrow....work now.....

If you have no luck let me know I will be off one day at the weekend I could pop around and lend a hand.
It is after all only a case of getting enough weight off the bolt for it to slide easily.

    Thank you Sir...

Is there anything I should co before I put it back on ??

Bearing in mind that I don't know if the "new" engine is kosher or not, so I don't want to go 'over the top' but it would be a shame to miss out on an opportunity to maintain it properly.

    Thanks. Kevin

    Re: Swing Arm Bolt Removal

Use some copper grease on it hen you reinstall it then it should be easier to remove if the motor does not work.
