Coxwain - rather than change yr bike are you aware of/ have you thought about an Airhawk seat pad ? Inflatable so it does add a "little height" but like ridin on a cushion - BRILL & highly recommended.

I bought mine from US & on asking the shop marked it as a "Gift" so no import duty. Saved about fifty quid on UK price

Much cheaper option than changing a new bike And if hght a prob you get std seat padding cut down.

I have heard 60 mpg and 200 miles per tank ( 17 litres) but I think it depends on type of use, My mate has a 700 DV and it only does 140 miles per tank.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I get 50mpg out of my TA700, pretty much regardless of how I ride. That translates to about 150 miles until the reserve indicator begins to blink (I then put in about 13 litres) - and I reckon I'd get another 40 or so miles before I was running on fumes...

    Re: help and advice

50 mpg is not to bad , ive been back on my mates 700 and had aday out on it , it rode great and its alot more easy for me to got on and off than the ten , so it looks like the tenere will be up for sale and be replaced with the alp , should get a buyer for it right away as its mint with 700 miles on it and its the best colour being the white with the red speed blocks plus its like 5 weeks old lol

    Re: help and advice

I manage a fairly respectable 55 - 60 mpg on my commute into the smoke every day. Most I've ever managed was 63 mpg but I was riding like a learner and dying of boredom.

I'm usually somewhere between 70 and 80 [well OK closer to 80] on the motorway class roads [about 23 miles] and then filtering/clutch pumping my way through the traffic for about 12 miles.

This "1st Service" issue has been well discussed recently if you search posts !! Lot of us think theres some "conning" going on !!

If valves need setting at the first then many hours involved of course but strangley when the 1st was gratis i dont think many got looked at !!

    Interesting that isnt it !!

How far Oop North are you ??
