Out of interest I have been checking the fuel on my '08 TA over the last 1000 miles. That's round town, country lanes, motorways and the odd blast on a Sunday morning and I returned 63 miles to the gallon. I'm happy with that.Fat Mal

I'm obviously doing something wrong I got 90 from my second tankfull and 110 from my third.... One month old 700, might not be running it down far enough as I don't seem to get to the point where the fuel gauge reverses. I just get a flashing gauge, what is it actually meant to do ? I left it flashing for ten miles to see if it moved on but then the fear of running out overcame me and it took almost 15 litres.

You should have at least 150 miles on the clock to take that much fuel.

I filled it right up this morning whilst out of a long ride. Got home 178 miles later and the reserve flashing thingy hadnt yet started.

Don't think mine does what the manual says either. When it's down to the reserve the black blobs just seem to flash up and down.

That's right ,when the ladder is jumping op en down it means your going in to reserve.
I''am also quite happy with consumption of the TA700.
Done a little over 12000 km and its still very economical.
Example ,did a ride last sunday ,passed a gasstation on exactly 300 km so did take the opportunity to fill her up.
With a little patience 13 liters to the top.
So 13 liters to ride 300 km ,means that there still was 4,5 liters left ,good for another 100 km.
Proofs what i did sayed last summer. It is possible to do 400 km if your the boss on your right hand.
Tomorrow she's having her 12000 km service ,i'am curious what the result after that on consumation will be.

Take the bike on a long run using A and B roads include some dual carriage-way and see if it improves, as it should.
The manual was written before they fitted the instruments so some things may be different.
