    I get between 50 and 60 mpg

50 for town work, 60 on a long run at 60-70

consumption goes down dramatically past 80 mph

usually get 160 miles before the reserve light flashes, at which point there is another 3 litres in the tank - at least 30 miles (45 if you are feeling very lucky!)

Much the same as Donkster. 55mpg for local ride outs and 60ish for longer runs. Recently got 62mpg over a 1300 mile run up to Scotland and back.
(my 700 is 2 months old).

    Re: transalp 700 mpg ?

Im monitoring mine on an iPhone application (sad but it entertains me).

55mpg on commuting with heavy hand.
    60mpg on longer runs.
Recently got 63 on long run, 320 miles from Norfolk to Holyhead via A14, M6 and Snowdonia - A14+M6 both taken at 80 average with full pannier set.

Fuel indicator does a wobbley at 150 miles almost to the dot and takes 14-15 litres to fill from this but the tank will take 18 litres to dead empty - i usually do 180-200 miles on long runs with 16-17 litres to fill. As long as you know where your nearest station is ive got no problem with running 180 miles.

Heading to the Alps on my Alp soon, fixing a Touratech Pertrol canister and bracket to the insode of the Givi pannier frame on the nearside (above chain), nice gap there takes it easy - will give me 2 litres of backup to run 200 miles per day on a tank.
TA700 2010 - Givi full set, Centre Stand, Scotoiller with LubeTube, Honda Tall Screen, Givi Crashbars, OEM Heated Grips, Fenda Extenda, Bar Risers, SSteel Spokes, Arrow Race-Tech DarkLine Exhaust, even bigger smile!!

TLD 2010 - 600 miles, 18 hours travelling, 4 hours sleep and no pint of guinness!! Must go back for that....

My thoughts exactly. Afraid I have covered about 7000 miles on my 700 I tend to fill up before a run and when heading North I tend to fill up when fuel is available. About 130 -150 miles to a tank would be my guess. But is it important? I have never bothered to measure / calculate it. I am sure I could keep the revs down limit my top speed free wheel down hill to do better if I really wanted too. Each to their own however.

How about buying a C90 if its a major issue you must get near to 100mpg on one of them

My 1.4 diesel Yaris gets better fuel econmy but I prefer my weekend runs on my Honda

I have just seen one up for sale £1500.
More expensive than a 125 learner bike.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Well, fuel economy isn't an overriding issue for me - but it's part of the balance. If was choosing between 2 bikes which in all other respects I liked equally, I'd probably go for the more economical one.

I like to try and do my bit to reduce my impact on the planet - besides, using less petrol means you can ride further for the same amount of money - or ride the same distance and drink more beer (but, obviously, not at the same time - being a responsible, model road user and good citizen).
