    Tappet adjustment tool

Adjusted the tappets on the 650 TA V6 about a week ago and really struggled to achieve the correct gaps. Eventually hit on the idea of using a chuck type tap wrench (from Cromwell Tools) adjustable to grip the 4mm sq tappet. Uploaded a pic onto my pics gallery. (Not sure how to load onto the forum.) The wrench gives much more grip and resistance to the tappet rotating as the locking screw is tightenned. Worked for me.
The upshot was that after reassembly the engine purred into life on the button.

Tappets on the 650 are a nightmare, especially the front exhaust.

To load the picture into the post, when in the reply mode on the lower right you have an insert and upload link, just under the smilies.
Click on the insert and it brings up your gallery, click on the image and it is inserted for you.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE
