    a pleasant surprise (service costs)

my TA700 had its 8000 mile service today
I call northHarbour in Ayr for quote (given £140)
I thought this was cheap especially as when I got old DV700 done at Honda official crooks in Glasgow 2 years ago it was more than double that.
I assumed that the cost given was for labour and parts extra
When I went to collect bike I was told that rear brake pads were also fitted
    total cost £167.65
    including oil/filter/plugs and rear pads
I did 4000 myself and will do 12,000 also
see them again next June for 16,000
    SMcG in very windy Glasgow

    A nice surprise for sure.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I'm liking the sound of that. Average cost for my old Bandit? £200+ not including anything I had managed to bend / wear out in the meantime...

It will be a little while before my Transalp will need a service but it doesn't sound as if it will be quite as painful.
