From all the threads and presumptions aired I think it may be down to the tyre compounds wearing unevenly.
Maybe the wheels need rebalancing periodically.

Maybe... my front tire is best descrisbed a shhhhhite
Might be worth checking spokes, my rears were loose - even just after an MOT!
check rear spokes could be loose, these leads to a front wheel wobble: and if you have a backbox take it off along with the back plate.i had the same problem and this sorted it![]()
1st post.....Should have introduced myself etc.....apologiies.......
After owning 2 x GS's, (1150 + 1200) just bought a 700 T.A.......The very first thing that I noticed was the front end. Definitely wobbles when you take my hands off the 'bars. I will mess around with pressures, but my gut feeling is that it's the tyres.....Bridgestones, with just 1000 miles up. Again, gut feeling, new 'Tourances' at the correct pressure, should do the trick......(maybe)
yeah, i think a certain amount of "hands off" wobble is inherant.
Hi, lost count how many bikes i have built and owned. Had same thing with hands off and its real easy its wheel balance. Take her in get both balanced even though you only really need front and it feels like Rolls Royce after. Go cheap early! Don't play with suspension or anything like that!! Spoked wheels often do this after tyre change, clipping a curb, rough terrain or simple uneven wear on tyre.
same happend on my fazer change the racer head bearings and got the wheel balenced it was fine after tha never had ant proplems wiht my transalp what all the bearings like
thanks guys.got it sorted.it was rear spokes and steering head bearing![]()
I was just about to type +1 for having the wheel properly balanced and tyres checked. But having read your reply, I'm now changing that to check your spokes and steering head bearings.
Your welcome
Glad you got it sorted![]()
