Brake light bulb

Went to the good old Halfords at the weekend to get a rear bulb checked the manual, nothing special 12V 21/5W, got the two pack out the bike section. Got home stripped the back end wrong fitment I had got the bayonet type and the bike has got the spade type.

Now the school boy question; will a car bulb like this fit the bike. If it is a yes I'm sure I saw one in Halfords. The guy in the local bike sold a red one (£4 with no receipt) to the wife saying that they only come in red, what a a*se.

I feel a numpty asking but I need to check

Cheers...

Re: Brake light bulb

The correct term for this type of bulb is CAPLESS, if the bulb has three wire tabs two on one side one on the other then they should fit.

Cheers stumpyfingers. I have just stripped the bulb out and the current one has 4 wires, two either side. I will get the car bulb from Halfords. Thanks

Re: Brake light bulb

If you need the proper bulb type numbers, go to this link, some bothered to check them all out and write them down, unlike Honda!!
