    Soft panniers for XL700

Can anyone recommend soft panniers. Oxfords seem not to fit - touching exhaust.
    Cheers

Tried the Hein Gericke ones, same problem.

Plumpt for Givi e21's, small but effective with topbox.

    Remove the exhaust.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I've got the same problem - just measured up a set of Cargo endurance soft panniers from my previous bike, and they definitely touch the exhaust a bit when just draped over the seat , and almost certainly will do a lot once fastened down properly.

Bit gutted really, as they are virtually unused. Ho hum, looks like they'll have to go onto ebay , and will have to persuade SWMBO that I absolutely MUST have a set of hard panniers.

Probably looking at a set of Givi E21s.
Transalp 700, heated grips, SW Motech crash bars, Barkbusters, centre stand, short@rse seat, Vario screen, Givi E21s, CR85 folding gear lever, Trax top box.

The beatings will continue until morale improves...

    Hi Andyhy,

Can't recommend highly enough the Givi T421 (voyager) soft panniers, brilliant! I do use them though with a Givi hard luggage rack and a few mods so no exhaust problems on my 600. I have fitted the cross straps under the seat so they are sort of semi-permanent; pretty sure they would be as good on your 700.
I think you are always going to get problems with soft luggage fouling on the high exhaust of Transalps without a rack or guard of some sort.
I have just been away again camping out of them and as I say..brilliant.
You can see them fitted and other Transalp mod stuff on my Flickr photos, any close up photos etc, questions, just ask..

    Hi Andyhy,

I bought a frame thing from Givi (for my XL650) to keep the soft bags off the exhaust. Worked just fine. They list one for the XL700 too:-
T221 -Tubular side holder for soft luggage

By the way, I no longer use mine (have Trax hard panniers now) so they and a new set of Oxford bags are up for offers..... 650 only - no way they will fit the 700.

Does anyone have pics of these (T221) fitted to a 700TA? The two sites I've found both show 'generic' images. I need to be sure they'll adequately clear the TA's exhaust.

OK. so no pics, then? Has anyone tried these frames on a 700 TA? Do they clear the exhausts? Givi say 'yes' but can only confirm with their own soft luggage.
