I was in Castle Douglas, SW Scotland earlier in the week and say a silver '07 Transalp parked in the street as I walked past it a women came from a cafe with riding gear on. I stopped to talk about the 'Alp as I have a silver '05 'Alp. It turns out she was German and touring with her husband on a BMW but it had broken down earlier in the week with a gearbox problem but had managed to borrow the 'Alp, I wished her good luck and a nice holiday but stopped short of saying anything about BMW's!
