    Warranty claim Transalp 700?

Hello, could someone give me some advice please.

I have had my transalp 700 since June 2008, and noticed the alloy surface had worn away on the left-hand footrest bracket after about 10 months and 3000miles. I was told by the dealer that this happens all the time and suggested sticking some plastic over it. The wear is due to my boots but should this happen so quickly? I have some photos but cannot post them - not sure how to do it.

Do you think this is a warranty issue?

From my experience this will be classed as "wear & tear" I am currently fighting to get mudguard with bubbling paint replaced & Honda dont want to know !

My boots must have more grit ground in than yours because both sides of mine wore white in days, I think that your probably on a hiding to nothing regarding the warrenty but agree that using coated plastic rather than alloy is pretty poor.

The footrest brackets are painted alloy. I kind of like the slightly worn finish on mine - it gives the bike the beginnings of a well-loved and used kind of look. Personally, I reckon you're on a hiding to nothing with the warranty claim - it's a bit like expecting tyres not to wear out. So long as you use the bike regularly, you won't get corrosion, as your boots will just polish it away.

Hi! My 700 is an Ex honda Press Bike and the brackets had protective film on them when I got it (1 Previous owner Mr H Onda UK) so they must know the Finish is tish.
