you may need to re jet it.do you have an after market can on it![]()
I put a K&N on mine at 8,000 miles and its been on there for the next 60,000miles. No problems. I have also removed the catalyst, rejetted (smaller 125 jets) and run a GP (brand) silencer. Each of which should make make the bike run leaner, but it runs fine and plugs come out looking like there is a good mixture. On my experience then you probably don't need to do anything as TAs are notorious for running on the rich side, but you should judge for it yourself and if in doubt get it checked at a dyno or a bike shop.
2001 Transalp XLV650. Faithful old friend still chugging away nearly 100,00miles
2007 Varadero XLV1000. Now you're torquing but sadly gone to another forum member. One of the best bikes - period.
Yamaha XT660r - slowly getting it ready for some big adventures
Have a K&N and Arrow dakar can on my 600 and havent change a thing. But does make it run a bit smoother.
this is a usful thread to find this rainy day as i was going to ask the same question myself.
