My '92 alp passed it's MOT on Friday-
It initially failed for the headlight being set an inch too high. I reackon as a result of my new-ish Conti TKCs being bigger than the old tyres that we're on it!
I'd arranged the MOT for Thursday but I was cleaning the bike on the drive prior to the MOT - moved it to wash the other side - my foot slipped and I dropped it! - after the "I can catch this - oh no I can't" balancing act for a few seconds.
Only damage - my pride & scuffs to the rad/tank cowls - which add to the over all ' been around the block look' of the bike, and a broken brake lever.
My MOT man ordered me a new brake lever - from Honda (as Silver's didn't have any in stock) and he only charged me what they charged him (no mark up) and he he kindly delayed the MOT by a day and didn't charge me for the missed slot or for fitting the lever - an all round good bloke and I'll put Zoom motorcycles (Wheatleey nr Oxford) details in the recommended dealers bit -
I was really chuffed - given that the bike and I do over a thousand miles per month and it hasn't been near a garage since I bought it!
cheers
Nick
(Mods -wasn't sure if this goes in chatter or in the 'alp forum - please move if it's in the wrong place! cheers)
