    08 Transalp lights

    Hi folks,

I am currently away from home and wanted to source some brighter than standard bulbs for a 08 Transalp 700 tomorrow.

    Can anyone help please?

    1. What code / part number (type of lamp - H3 H4 etc) do I need for these lamps (forgot my owners manual) so I can purchase appropriate bulbs from Halfords or where ever.

    2. Do I need to replace both bulbs?

    3. Any recommendations for a good bright improvement on the standard fitted bulbs.

I find main beam fairly good, but driving on the dipped beam is just not that good, I wanted to explore brighter bulb replacements before entering down the driving lamp or HID route.

    Many thanks

    Belay that,

Having searched a tad harder... They are H11 - yes both - replacements seem to be pants lasting only a couple of weeks.

    Hi,

I dont have a 700 but i do have a 650V3, same problem crap lights, so i changed it to a Xtreme brilliance (xenon), from halfords, its for motorbikesw only, dont buy the car ones they cant stand the viberation. The light is fantastic, its been on for 4 months now and my lights are always on, the light is a very bright pure white.

    good luck

    Thanks Clint,

Maybe the riders who had said they had blown had used car bulbs.

    The search is on then

It does seem that the bulbs are poorly marked.
If you get bike bulbs they last longer but they do not mark them up in the shops, unless the slightly higher price is the reason.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Well I am visiting Salisbury at the moment, been into Salisbury and Andover visiting just about every shop that might sell bulbs!

Not a sausage! not even a standard bulb let alone a 'super brilliance'...

Well not for a H11 anyway.

    Back to Devon tomorrow

    Thanks Clint

But yes have tried Halfords, online and in store, I think the H11 is a fairly new generation of bulb.....

Anyway, I must mount up and clear off back to Devon for now, when I get home I shall do a wider web search for them.

I have never seen super bright H11 bulbs anywhere but online and never marked as for bikes. I loved the osram night breakers that I had but they just didn't last.
If you find any please let us know, I'll be keeping an eye out for them too.

I'll let you know what I find, however nightbreakers were going to be the choice - now struck off my list

And 'do tell' if you find somewhere to mount those ring fog lamps...
