    Hi Dal,
thanks a heap for posting the pic. Mine is definately a 600 version with an open end. I may have to see if my Honda guy can get me one for the 400, or I might try and fit an end plate to my new one. When you do get yours, can you give me the diameter of the end hole?
    Thanks again

Nice one. That's definitely it. Go for it. I might do the same.
For your info, I also noticed that the oil filter is the same as the NX650 Dominator (any year 88-02) and NOT the XL600. Might be worth grabbing one of those too at only £4.00.
    Cheers.

For my own part, the lesson learned is not to assume that most parts will be the same as the 600 of the same year!
Anyone with a 600 VT in Ireland can have a nearly new air filter and an oil filter for nothing, if they can collect in central Dublin.
I'd be too embarassed to ask for dosh!!

    Re: Transalp 400 won't rev past 6500-7000rpm (100kph)

Hi all. I was just checking out prices on CDI's for Transalps and come across this ad...Once again, some parts sometime seem a little expensive when talking / mentioning about Transalps, but mention another make of bike, with identical part, and the parts can suprisingly become quite a lot cheaper..
This is a list of makes and models that use the same CDI as some of the Transalp models.
What interests me is that this means for example, the KONISA:CL 125-3 A - LX 125-4 (whatever that is), has the same ignition curve as a Transalp..
    Would this be correct?
I found this list from a CDI manufacturer in China..I also checked on ebay, and found that say an XR 100 CDI looked identical..Strange??

    Thoughts anyone??

    That is interesting.
Given that there must only be so many CDI's they must be interchangable with different model bikes.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Hey Dal, do you have any engine tech data on the 400's..Like valve clearances, carb settings etc? I think the valves are the same clearance as a 600, but I'd rather know for sure before I adjust..
