    Re: Transalp 700 MPG

Sadly, I track my fuel consumption (just record mileage & litres at each fill-up):

Best ever: 61.05 mpg (150 miles: Hemel Hempstead to Knighton, Powys, via Cotswolds - lots of cruising at 60-70mpg, no m/ways but 20-30 miles dual c/ways).
Worst ever: 43 mpg (loads of short about town trips in February + quick run to Ally Pally bike show in N.London traffic).

    Typical:
    Long distance solo with T/Box + Panniers (inc. m/ways @ 75-85 mph): 55-60 mpg.
Day to day with T/Box (short ride-outs, short commutes): 48-53 mpg.
2-up long distance with luggage (inc. m/ways): 51-54 mpg.

Re. changing sprockets, thought about it but what the TA700 needs is a 6th gear ......

Sounds like gearing is the least of your worries

    Re: Transalp 700 MPG

believe it or not, I did 184 km per day over two runs...one to work..one home.

    I used two gallons/9 litres.

Most of the way was a straight run with very little stoppages only for turning onto main roads....generallyt 50-80 km/h for 60 km, 100 km/hr for the other 32......

    Very good

I did this for say 8 months in total.
